Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

    • LLUNIAU A GWRTHRYCHAU / PICTURES AMPERSAND OBJECTS GAN / BY SIÂN GREEN

      10Aug

STATEMENT SIÂN GREEN PICTURES AND OBJECTS, 9 – 31 August 2007 Siân Green is a young, local artist from Pontrug, Caernarfon. In 2005 she completed a degree in Fine Art (Painting and Drawing) at Edinburgh College of Art and, after a period of living in Glasgow, returned home to live and work. Siân comes from an artistic background, and has enjoyed Art from an early age. Her father is Liverpool born artist Frank Green renowned for his lifetime dedication to recording the demolition programme which has destroyed so much of Liverpool since the 1960s. Oriel Dafydd Hardy’s curator, Glenys Davies regularly exhibited Frank Green’s work in the Liverpool Academy of Arts during the 1970s. In this exhibition is a range of work produced over the past few years, including a latex cast of patterned wallpaper and a large drawing of an imaginary Barcelona. The Last Supper (re-arranged) “A blank painting-by-numbers of The Last Supper, dissected and (the shape of) the colours re-arranged on a board. By re-arranging the painting-by-numbers the idea of finding/ creating a formula for art production has been developed further.” Punctured Canvas (Fetish Fone Filth) “A canvas, with a perforated surface, which depicts a page from a pornographic magazine (a crude graphic image not associated with art). By presenting the image in this way, the status of the image and the (fine art) canvas on which it sits have been elevated/ diminished accordingly.” Patterned Wallpaper (latex cast) “A latex cast of patterned wallpaper was taken to a beach. The pattern was imprinted on sand therefore transferring the comfort associated with domestic settings into a different environment.” If you would like to purchase a piece of work phone Siân on 07847 917 584 / 01286 677 149 or Glenys on 07774 730 325 Oriel Dafydd Hardy does not take any commission from work sold by young artists.
